What I’d Like
I’d like a day with a friend.
When the sun shines just brightly enough to whisk away the cold, and the soft breeze is strong enough to stir life into the verdant grasses. The delectable red of maple tree blossoms, hiding the similarly hued birds chirping their delight.
A whole day, from early dawn to late dusk, just the two of us together. We’d talk and we’d walk, barefoot through the dew kissed moss and the rain soaked mud. Maybe we’d sing, laughing at our own glad voices echoing through the trees even as it begins to rain.
We’d find our way inside to my piano just as we’re about to be drenched from head to toe, touching the beloved keys softly to create a song of our own. The windows would be thrown wild open to let the fringes of the storm in and we’d lie on the carpeted floor listening to our melody blend with the wild winds.
Dusk would fall just as the rain lets up and the skies clear, and we’d smile at the first twinkling star as we bid each other farewell.
